The Breathtaking Views of Cherokee, NC

Located at the entrance to The Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Western North Carolina is the beautiful small town of Cherokee.  Gently tucked into the Oconaluftee River Valley, Cherokee offers tourists a laundry list of outdoor activities and attractions.  Cherokee, NC serves as the official headquarters for the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.

As you wind down through the southern end of the Blue Ridge Parkway, you may simply stumble upon this quant little town with rich history and beautiful views.  In 1995, Harrah's Cherokee Casino opened in the area and has boosted tourism in the region.  But before you gamble your savings away, make sure to visit the wonderful landscapes and trails that Cherokee has to offer!  There is the trail to Mount Guyot, the Museum of Cherokee Indians, Qualla Arts & Crafts Center and the Cherokee Botanical Gardens & Nature Trail.

With such amazing scenery and a bustling town center, it's hard not to make Cherokee, NC your next family destination.  Or, at the very least, a stop on your adventures through the mountains of North Carolina.  Whatever your heart's desire, we're sure you'll find it in Cherokee!
